Kentucky Trip

Kyle and I got to spend a week in Lexington, KY before I started my internship. It was a wonderful week and it was so fun to see my brother Christian come home from his mission in Dallas, TX. Here's what we did!

Sunday we went to the Tates Creek ward and went to my mom's sunday school class that she teaches. The cool thing about this class is that it's called the "baby class". It's for all the parents that have kids that are too young for nursery, so they just run around in the gym. Elizabeth is in the class so Kyle and I got to chase her around, and it was really fun.
baby looks so cute!

Elizabeth likes dressing up

Monday was my brother Jonathan's birthday and we celebrated by going shopping at the mall, going to fan outfitters to stock up on UK gear, and going out to dinner at Ramsey's (sooooo good!). After that we went to check out the cows and get some ice cream cake.

Tuesday we explored Lexington a little bit more to give Kyle a feel for the beauty of the city. We went to Jacobsen park and rode paddle boats on the pond there. After playing on the playground for awhile we went to Spindletop and got to go inside (it was the prettiest building I've ever seen!). After we went to Keenland race track and got to see where all the horses race! Later that night Kathryn had a swim meet in which she got 2nd place in freestyle and backstroke. She did great!!

Wednesday was the best day of all. We spent the morning making pancakes, posters, and getting ready for to go to the airport to pick Christian up from his flight. His flight ended up being delayed an hour, so we hung around the airport until his flight got in. When he got into the Lexington airport everyone was so happy to have him home!! We then went to the stake center to have him released, and we got to have a family meeting with President Thomas and it was really special and spiritual. We also got to have Grandma and Grandpa Moody there too which was fun!

Elizabeth loved the balloons we got Christian

Thursday we went to Boyd's orchard with my grandparents, mom and dad, Christian, Kathryn and Elizabeth. We played on the pirate ship, slides, pet some animals, and enjoyed some pulled pork sandwiches and apple pie. That night we also had a delicious bbq with my grandparents.

Friday morning we had family pictures at a park close to our house. I got to coordinate the outfits which was really fun! After the pictures we played around a little bit at the park and found a really funny little cabin that Kyle and I called "our first home". After that we toured UK campus with Jonathan and got to see  where all the medical stuff was. Friday night we went to the Red's game in Cincinnati, OH. It was firework friday so after the game we got to watch an awesome fireworks show! It was a fun night!

The next day was Michael's 18th birthday! Unfortunately that was the day that we had to fly back to Provo, so we didn't do much celebrating, but it was still a fun day! It was really sad to leave my family and Lexington, but hopefully we get to visit sooner than later!

We love Kentucky!
